1973 – Began scuba diving
1974 – Started diving Lake Michigan shipwrecks
1976 – Began working with professional diver and master shipwreck hunter Gene Turner
1981 – Discovered the 2 masted schooner Kate Kelly (126′ x 26′) which sank May 13th, 1895
1982 – Featured in October edition of Skin Diver magazine as “Foremost authority in his field”
1983 – Discovered the 3 masted schooner Lumberman (126.5′ x 23′) which sank April 6th, 1893
1984 – Founded Loves Park Scuba and became first scuba instructor for Loves Park Scuba
2003 – Licensed captain
2004 – Founded the Lockwood Pioneer Museum
2008 – Purchased research vessel Lockwood Explorer for shipwreck exploration
2011 – Instructor trainer for SDI
2015 – Professor of Scuba Diving at Rockford University
