A WEEKEND OF DIVING, FRIENDSHIP & CELEBRATION!
A couple of weekends ago, we experienced one of those special weekends that reminds us that scuba diving is about much more than simply being underwater. It is about friendship, community, personal achievements, and sharing unforgettable moments together.
CELEBRATING PAUL’S BIRTHDAY AT PEARL LAKE
One of our dear students and friends, Paul, had the opportunity to celebrate his birthday doing something he loves: diving at Pearl Lake and spending the day surrounded by friends from our Loves Park Scuba Sunday Funday community.
Paul’s partner, Donna, shared with us that she wanted to surprise him with a birthday celebration at the lake. Together with our manager, Karey, they decorated one of the pavilions with Happy Birthday decorations before Paul arrived.
And the surprise was a success!
But, of course, no great Sunday Funday celebration would be complete without some great food!
Jay, Karey’s husband, fired up the grill and prepared delicious hamburgers, hot dogs, and other goodies for everyone to enjoy.
Donna brought a wonderful birthday cake so we could all celebrate Paul together.
Lisa and Gene brought some amazing BBQ ribs that were absolutely finger-licking good!
And we certainly cannot forget Geofrey’s secret recipe — his famous Tortellini Salad! He shared it with the group, and it was another delicious addition to our Sunday Funday feast.
Great diving, great food, a birthday cake, and most importantly, great people around the table.
Paul and Donna, thank you for your friendship, your trust in Loves Park Scuba, and especially for giving us the opportunity to share such an important moment with you.
TWO NEW MASTER DIVERS!
The celebration continued with another very special moment.
We had the privilege of recognizing two of our dear students, Geoferey and Dylan, for reaching an important milestone in their diving journey:
MASTER DIVER!
After completing their training, gaining experience through multiple specialty courses and Rescue training, and reaching more than 50 logged dives, they achieved a level that represents much more than another certification card.
It represents experience, training, dedication, confidence, commitment, and many hours underwater.
Congratulations, Geofrey and Dylan! We are very happy to have watched you develop as divers and to see you continue growing and gaining experience as part of our diving community.
FIVE NEW OPEN WATER DIVERS JOINED OUR FAMILY!
And while we were celebrating these achievements, another group was beginning an entirely new chapter in their lives.
That same weekend, five more students completed their Open Water Diver training with Loves Park Scuba!
After an intensive weekend of learning, pool training, practicing skills, and completing their Open Water dives, these students successfully demonstrated the knowledge, confidence, and underwater skills required to achieve their:
OPEN WATER DIVER CERTIFICATION!
Watching someone take their first breaths underwater, learn the fundamental skills of scuba diving, overcome challenges, and finally become a certified diver is always something special for our entire team.
Congratulations to our five new Open Water Divers!
Your certification isn't the end of your training — it's the beginning of your diving adventure.
Now it's time to keep diving, gain experience, continue learning, explore new places, and enjoy everything the underwater world has to offer!

Think about everything that happened in just one weekend:
We celebrated Paul’s birthday.
Geofrey and Dylan were recognized as Master Divers.
We welcomed five new Open Water Divers into the diving community.
We gathered around the grill for hamburgers and hot dogs prepared by Jay.
We enjoyed Lisa and Gene’s incredible BBQ ribs.
We got another taste of Geofrey’s famous secret-recipe Tortellini Salad.
And we shared Donna’s birthday cake to celebrate Paul.
And, of course...
WE WENT DIVING!
This is exactly what Sunday Funday has become.
It started as an opportunity for divers to meet at Pearl Lake and simply go diving. But over time, it has grown into something much bigger:
Friendships. Adventures. Training. Birthdays. Certifications. Achievements. Food. Laughter. Stories. And countless memories created together.
At Loves Park Scuba, we believe scuba diving isn't only about collecting certifications or adding another dive to your logbook.
It's about the people you meet, the challenges you overcome, the places you discover, the meals you share after a dive, the stories you tell around the table, and the memories you create along the way.
Thank you Paul, Donna, Karey, Jay, Lisa, Gene, Geoferey, Dylan, our five new Open Water Divers, and everyone who joined us and helped make this Sunday Funday such a memorable celebration.
